Now, I live in California where our rules have stayed a lot stricter than other states. At the time, stores were open, but they only allowed a few people in at a time. That meant often there were long lines of people waiting outside (six feet apart, of course) to be let in.

As I drove up to the pharmacy --- just about 10 minutes from my house --- I saw that it was particularly bad that day: the line wrapped all around the building… It was at least a 45 minute wait. People were just outside in the cold (well, Los Angeles “cold”), waiting to be let into the grocery store where my prescription was.

Without even a second thought, I drove straight home. There in the driveway, before I even got out of the car, I ordered a TaskRabbit to grab my prescription.
